                                                 FAMOUS ATTRACTIONS

Tourist Attractions Jammu & Kashmir
Vaishno Devi Temple, Gurudwara Sh Guru Nanak Devji, Chichi Mata, Surinsar and Mansar Lake, Jhajjar Kotli, Bagh e Bahu, Gadhadharji Temple, Shankaracharya Temple, Bahu Fort Dal and Nagin Lake, Mughal Gardens, Amarnath, Gulmarg, Leh Palace, Thiksey Monastery are some of the prime tourist attractions in Jammu & Kashmir. Jammu & Kashmir travel destinations include Srinagar, Patnitop, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg and Katra

GULMARG

Gulmarg's legendary beauty, prime location and proximity to Srinagar naturally make it one of the premier hill resorts in the country. Originally called 'Gaurimarg' by shepherds, its present name was given in the 16th century by Sultan Yusuf Shah, who was inspired by the sight of its grassy slopes emblazoned with wild flowers. Gulmarg was a favourite haunt of Emperor Jehangir who once collected 21 different varieties of flowers from here. Today Gulmarg is not merely a mountain resort of exceptional beauty- it also has the highest green golf course in the world, at an altitude of 2,650 m, and is the country's premier ski resort in the winter.

PAHALGAM

Situated at the confluence of the streams flowing from Sheshnag Lake and the Lidderriver, Pahalgam (2,130 m) was once a humble shepherd's village with breathtaking views. Now it is Kashmir's premier resort, cool even during the height of summer when the maximum temperature does not exceed 250C. A number of hotels and lodges cater to all preferences and budgets, from luxurious hotels to unpretentious trekkers' lodges, including J&K TDC's huts.

DAL LAKE
Dal Lake is a lake in srinagar, the summer capital of jammu and kashmir. The urban lake, which is the second largest in the state, is integral to tourism and recreation in Kashmir and is nicknamed the "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir" or "Srinagar's Jewel". The lake is also an important source for commercial operations in fishing and water plant harvesting.

SONMARG

The drive to Sonamarg is through the Sindh Valley which presents yet another spectacular facet of countryside in Kashmir. Situated at an altitude of 2730 m, Sonamarg (‘The meadow of gold’) has, as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. The Sindh River that meanders through the valley abounds withtrout and mahaseerPonies can be hired for the trip up to Thajiwas glacierwhich is a major local attraction during the summer month.

LADAKH

That attracts me most about Ladakh is that it is a cold desert situated in the lap of the mighty Himalayan range and Karakoram Range. This place will entice your heart and mind and provide you with an essence of tranquility. I personally find Ladakh to be a very famous vacation spot and pilgrimage destination among the tourists and devotees of Buddhism. High altitude lakes, thrilling and dangerous passes, monasteries and gompas, and historical sites contribute to the blissful essence of the place.

Dear readers this was a part of kashmir.. officially knowns as "THE STATE OF JAMMU AND KASHMIR"
But that is not the end.
there are much more to see, just in kashmir itself.

Well Kashmir is all-season destination but still the best time to visit Kashmir is during the months of March to October. During this period the weather conditions in Kashmir are at their best. This period covers three seasons in Kashmir i.e., spring (March-early May), summers (early May-late August) and autumn (September-November). The blossoms of spring, the cool weather of summer and the gold and red hues of autumn all provide the peak season for Kashmir travel. From December to early March is the winter season for Kashmir, when the entire valley wears a white blanket of snow. For those, who enjoy chilling weather and are interested in skiing, winter is the time to be in Kashmir.

Much more to come dear friends.... follow this blog if you wanna get updated... c ya ... and take care
